In the video series moths, the artist obscures our connection to light through observing and filming moths in the depth of the night. Shot under UV lights used by entomologists to study nocturnal insects, the videos each dwells on one still shot,  from engulfing darkness to blinding brightness, from disorienting reflections to blurry whirlwinds of movement. Form seems to expand and contract, dissolves into the background. It is accompanied by a visceral vibration.

The artist became interested in various observations by etymologists on the behaviour of insects, as a metaphor for the organisation and impulses of human behaviour. However, perhaps this metaphor speaks more aptly to the idea of a desire to project onto beings and systems in order to understand our own reflexes.
